Itinerary

On arrival in Auckland, ‘The City of Sails’, seat in coach passengers will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to your hotel. Self drive passengers will collect your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel.
Travel north over Auckland’s Harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus Coast. There is the opportunity to view mighty Kauri Trees enroute. The journey continues, travelling through Whangarei, Northland’s only major city and port, before arriving in the beautiful Bay of Islands. This afternoon enjoy a ‘Hole in the Rock and Cape Brett’ cruise. Finish your cruise in historic Russell and return by local ferry to Paihia at your leisure. (Breakfast)
Today is at your leisure to enjoy the Bay of Islands and Northland. You might like to book an optional Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach day tour or take time to explore Kerikeri. Optional activities not included in the tour price. (Breakfast)
At leisure this morning to further explore this beautiful region. You might like to take an optional guided tour of the Treaty Grounds at Waitangi, where the famous Treaty of Waitangi was signed between the British Crown and local Maori chieftains. Depart Auckland and travel the scenic route south to the Coromandel Peninsula. Visit the historic township of Thames, famous for its goldmining in the 1900’s, then continue over the spectacular, semi-tropical bush clad mountains to Pauanui. (Breakfast)
Visit the world famous Hot Water Beach where the hot water bubbles out of the sand so hot it can burn your feet! Take a gentle farmland walk to visit the beautiful Cathedral Cove for a walk or swim (optional boat transfer into Cathedral Cove can be arranged). After lunch (own expense), you will have a free afternoon. You might like to take a tour of the Whitianga Harbour by glass-bottomed boat if time permits. Today you travel the scenic route through the Karangahake Gorge, a spectacular area with large cliffs covered in the world’s largest tree ferns and native forest. Continue to the ‘thermal city’ of Rotorua. This evening enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert. (Breakfast ,Dinner)
This morning visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. Travel south to reach Taupo before travelling over rugged mountain ranges and well cultivated farmland to arrive in the ‘Art Deco’ city of Napier. (Breakfast)
Today discover four boutique wineries, with fine handcrafted Red & White Premium and Reserve medal winning wines. (Breakfast)
Travel through the Manawatu Gorge to Palmerston North, before arriving in the ‘Capital City’ of Wellington. (Breakfast)
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Wellington and a short guided tour of Te Papa (the Museum of New Zealand’) before enjoying a free afternoon to explore New Zealand’s capital city.(Breakfast)
Journey across Cook Strait, which separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and into the Marlborough Sounds with its sparkling clear waters and lush forests, before arriving in Picton. Continue to Nelson for a leisurely afternoon.(Breakfast)

Depart Christchurch on the renowned Tranz Alpine Train (seat in coach passengers only), over the Southern Alps to Greymouth. This afternoon visit the famous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. (Breakfast)
Depart Greymouth and travel south along the Scenic West Coast, with views of both the Southern Alps and the Tasman Sea. Stop at Hokitika enroute where you can view greenstone carvers & glass blowers at work. Continue to the glacier region.(Breakfast)
Travel down the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the Haast Pass, gateway to the World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue around the shores of Lake Hawea to arrive in Wanaka early afternoon. (Breakfast)
